Many enterprise cloud cost problems stem not from lack of capacity but from mis-allocation, idle resources and poor governance. Even well-written code can incur waste if uncontrolled. As a senior software developer I emphasise: good code must be paired with disciplined resource management.
In systems I’ve developed (web-services, mobile backends, print-workflows), I paired code redesign with monitoring hooks to allow cost-and-performance review as part of the engineering workflow.
Efficient code + resource governance = true cost control. Without both, cloud-scale loses value.
